My husband passed away from a sudden illness.  I was devastated by my husband’s death and I was embarrassed that I needed help.  The Case Manager from the Thin Blue Line of Michigan was so compassionate and supportive during our telephone interview.  My mind and heart was put at ease and I even received follow up phone calls to support me in my grief.  I was treated with dignity and respect.  The Thin Blue Line of Michigan assisted me with funeral expenses as my husband had not worked in more than a year due to his illness and we were paying outrageous monthly costs for health insurance.

Life is unpredictable, my husband had just turned 60 when he died, and he didn’t work for a large police department and did not receive a pension.  I feel many officers that work for small departments would be grateful for the support and assistance of the Thin Blue Line of Michigan.
